In the new school year, Kinodvor will enable children and teens being treated in hospitals access to a colourful film world via the Film in Hospital internet platform, which is part of an international project.

On midsummer nights, film stars come to life in the courtyard of Ljubljana Castle. A programme of four avant premieres and this season’s best films has been put together by Kinodvor, in collaboration with the City of Ljubljana and Ljubljana Castle. From 14 July to 6 August, at 21:30. Tickets already in sale.

The documentary by Matej Vranič that offers insight into Slovenia’s five ecosystems is available on our online platform with English subtitles or narrated in English from 3 February to 2 March, also for viewers outside Slovenia.

On Sunday, 16 October, the young closed the 6th Kinotrip International Film Festival – By the Youth for the Youth by conferring the Kinotrip Audience Award.

Between April 6 and 8 three young Slovene film lovers were part of the festival’s International Young Jury with the task to select the best short film for youngsters.

Barbara Kelbl presented Kinodvor’s experience in one of the two education online events exploring how different film educators in Scotland and Europe have responded to some of the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Metka Dariš, director of Kinodvor, was one of the exhibitors that offered practice-based insights at this year’s Sofia Audience Development & Innovation Online Lab.

In March 2021 Kinodvor has joined the Slovenian Art Cinema Association in establishing an online streaming platform.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 26 and 27 January, the online regional seminar of film education in South Eastern Europe Next Steps in Film Education took place. More than a hundred representatives of key institutions in the broader region sought ways of maintaining the quality and ensuring the accessibility of film education – also in view of the consequences brought about by the pandemic.

We really miss our audience and do not want to end the year without our loyal supporters. On 31 December we will therefore offer two films via the streaming platform Eventive (available in Slovenia only): the Danish Another Round from Thomas Vinterberg and for the children the Swedish Sune – Best Man by Jon Holmberg.
