Man Ray made his first 2 minutes and 51 seconds long film Le Retour à la raison the day before its première at the dadaist event Le Cœur à barbe, which took place in Paris on 6 July 1923. To celebrate the hundredth anniversary, Jim Jarmusch and Carter Logan, founding members of Sqürl, created an improvised musical accompaniment for this and three other works by the American artist. The restored films, combined into a 70-minute programme entitled Return to Reason, were premièred this year in the Cannes Classics section.
