The Italian animator Gianluigi Toccafondo is the artist behind this year’s Animateka visual identity. His works are an inspired mix of painting, cinema, and animation. In his process, he makes photos from film clips, xeroxes them on paper, then paints on them, transforming the original subject. Finally, he shoots them on 35mm film, and they become cinema again.
