Ireland, the early 1930s. Jimmy returns to his home after having lived for over 10 years in exile in America. His sin was to have built a cultural centre where young people could learn, argue, dream – and above all – dance and have fun. He vows to live a quiet life and take care of his mother. But confronted with the effects of the Great Depression, he soon realises he has to re-open the hall. Ken Loach’s last feature film is a tribute to the free spirit. (Irish-English spoken)
