An ironic apocalyptical comedy about a circle of American celebrity comedians who confront a cataclysm with profuse self-parody and crude humour.
After a series of unusual and catastrophic events devastates Los Angeles, six friends, young Hollywood celebrity actors, find themselves trapped in James Franco's house. As the world unravels outside, inside the group must find a way to deal with panic attacks and cabin fever caused by total isolation and dwindling supplies, which is threatening to tear the pampered group apart at a time when they'll need each other most.
» I think once we decided that the actors should play themselves, and then the idea of a Christian apocalypse, those two things really made it all of a sudden seem like a big enough idea that we could actually make into a movie. Those things were exciting to us – the idea of a meta-comedy and the idea of being able to make a religion-themed movie.«
