Vasil has just lost his long-time partner in life, his wife Ivanka. When a woman at her funeral proclaims that the dead woman called her cell phone, Vasil solicits the help of a well-known psychic in order to try to contact his wife. His son Pavel tries to bring him to his senses, but Vasil stubbornly insists on doing things his own way.

"The relationship between father and son was built based on what we saw happening around us, what we saw happening between us and our parents. I think it's something important to talk about. It's important to try to be more connected and solve our problems in a good way. We think these things [points at a mobile phone] do not connect us, many times they're obstacles in the way of communication. That's why miscommunication became one of the main topics of our film." (Kristina Grozeva)

Sonja Prosenc

Monday, 26. 08. 2024 / 20:30 / Main Hall

Family Therapy revolves around a nouveau riche family living in a glass house, exuding an air of detached superiority. This serves as a satirical backdrop for a humorous reimagining of the premise of Pasolini’s Teorema: a young stranger arrives at the house, disrupting the delicate balance of the family’s dynamics, revealing a world of chaos and dysfunctional relationships hidden beneath its surface … With a tragicomical tone, the film explores contemporary social issues. Family Therapy had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
